As the semester starts to wind down it is a good time to look back at all the things I learned this semester.  I learned a plethora of new games in striking and fielding that I can use in the future.  Intro to adapted was something that was completely new to me.  I learned a ton about adapting games to your students and all of the safety concerns.  All in all it was a really good semester!

Digital Videos

It has been really cool to see all of the digital videos in tech pete. Some stuff I already knew, but some stuff I did not know. It was really nice to see everyone being active and attempting to teach. When watching some of the videos you can see how nervous everyone is, and I'm curious to see how they will be ten years from now when they are use to speaking in front of a large crowd. I am sure everyone will come into their own.

Fitness

I think it is very important for people in the health field to live a healthy life style. I am not saying that you have to be perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but you should make an effort. You must practice what you preach. Why would someone follow your advice about eating clean or being physically active if you do not do it yourself. We are also expected to be leaders and set an example and it is time that we stop bragging about how drunk we got during the weekend. We must grow up and realize that some kids might look at us as role models.

I learned a lot about shooting free throws by watching this years NBA playoffs. 4 of the top 11 free throw shooters off all time are in this years playoffs (Steve Nash, Chauncey Billups, Ray Allen, and Kevin Durant). I am teaching free throw shooting in my digital video, and by watching these guys I learned a thing or two. If you watch any of these four guys shoot, you will notice that they have the same rhythm every time they step up to the line. It never changes because it is their routine that they have been doing forever. I believe this is the main reason they are some of the best shooters of all time. On the other side of the coin, if you watch some on like Dwight Howard is one of the worst free throw shooters of all time. He never does the same thing twice when going to the line and he sometimes stands on the line and other times he is a foot off the line. He has zero consistency in his game.
